Oranges In Flight

I am reading Katherine May’s book called Enchantment. She has divided it into sections according to the elements. This is part of Air.

This passage caught my eye as I have never known this about oranges. Ginger, yes. And so I looked into it and there is some information about its essential oils. One FB post even showing placing some orange peel on an acupressure point, the same one on the inside wrist that motion sickness wristbands target. Have you tried using oranges?

”I know this trick: it is a ward against travel sickness. I have always been unsettled in motion. I like my feet on solid ground. I have queasily peeled oranges on coaches, cross-channel ferries, and the back seats of cars. I sometimes catch their potency in a paper bag to concentrate the effect. An orange cuts through nausea like a scalpel, even if the effect is only temporary.”
