Sunday Folks in Singapore’s Chip Bee Gardens always seems to have a line outside its doors. There’re always new eateries popping up in the city which has so many choices on offer. So when a friend was visiting from out of town, I suggested going to Sunday Folks.
Chip Bee Gardens
Chip Bee Gardens is an interesting part of Singapore. I looked for rentals here for a while because there is a lot of greenery and the houses have some outdoor space, great for Lou and Abby. It’s quiet and not built up. In many ways, it’s similar to where I lived in East Coast. It’s also just across from the Holland Village Shopping Centre, where one of my favourite foot reflexology practitioners is and Holland Village has a lot of amenities. There are a few bus routes and a MRT station, so it’s very convenient. I already come to Holland Village quite regularly.
Chip Bee Gardens has a few gourmet restaurants, eateries, and places like Sunday Folks. Being here makes them kinda special, like a special treat. Originals Sins, a vegetarian Mediterranean restaurant, has been there since 1997. It’s a popular place to meet my friends as most of us are vegetarian or pescatarian.
I also buy meat for my dogs and eggs and butter for me from The Butcher from time to time. Lemon Zest is fun shop to browse for kitchen supplies.
So if you’re visiting Singapore, Chip Bee Gardens and Holland Village are a fun place to check out. Then there’s Sunday Folks.
Sunday Folks
Sunday Folks is known for their waffles with “freshly churned ice cream” and so that’s what we ordered. There’re also quite a cake selection, behind the glass display, where you can also find waffle toppings.
I had my waffles with Sea Salt Melaka ice cream, berries, and mochi. The waffles were pretty good. Maybe next time, I’ll try a piece of their cakes.
