Summer Road Trip to Prague

The first time I travelled to Prague was in the winter. It was beautiful.

This time, I was staying with my friend in Germany after a workshop/retreat we attended together. We wanted to take a short trip as we don’t get to see each other much, now that she no longer lives in Singapore. A few places were considered and we landed on Prague.

From Munich it was a do-able train ride and that was the plan.

Her husband, however, insisted that we drive and so we did. It’s less than four hours by car and my friend was up for it. So a roadtrip it is.

As we pulled into the outskirts of Prague, I noticed that my eyes felt itchy. This trip to Prague was not to be what I anticipated. The first order of things, after we checked in and met up with our Czech friends, was the pharmacy. My friends found me some eye drops, though it soon became clear that more time was needed for it to clear up. I ended up postponing my trip home and spent more time with my friend and her family back in Munich.

First, Prague.

After picking up some eye drops, we went to get some lunch. Prague is a great pedestrian city. The weather was still a bit cold, being first of June, though it was a good break from Singapore’s heat and humidity for me. Wrapped in my big scarf, I was ready to explore the city, even though navigating in my eyeglasses was not a comfortable or easy thing.

This trip was more about seeing our friends and shopping, not so much about seeing the landmarks. That was fine with me since I’d already see the Astronomical Clock, walked the Charles Bridge, visited the Prague Castle, and explored the city on foot on my first trip.
